Seven of the ten Omaha pumpkins raised in individual hills along with corn and squash. The largest pumpkin (back row left side) weighed 1.245 kg. and measured 15 cm. in diameter and 13.3 cm in height; it contained 231 seeds. The smallest pumpkin (from row, center) weight 456 grams and measured 10.9 cm in diameter and 8.4 cm. in height; it proved to be rotten inside from an attack by squash bugs from underneath it).  Two immature pumpkins of very small size (160 and 275 grams) were still edible, but the seeds not fully mature; they yielded 134 and 164 seeds.

Young Omaha pumpkin harvested because squash bugs killed the vine. It weighed 669 grams and contained 183 good seeds and 29 "flats" (I assume not viable). Neathery diced the meat and boiled - it is delicious. [I hand smashed the squash bugs.]

 Omaha Pumpkin Bloom (July 18, 2024) - >

Omaha pumpkin that appeared healthy when harvested had begun to rot from its bottom in contact with the soil (and squash bugs). Weight = 456 grams , diameter = 10.9 cm, and height = 8.4 cm. It contained at least 200 seeds, but they were not saved.
